Phil Gets Number 10

Phil Jackson has just lit his cigar to pay homage to the late great Red Auerbach. Jackson has now become the all time leading coach for most championships with 10, to get out of the tie with Red who holds 9. Phil is often called the Zenn Master, but in all honesty he is more of a group therapist then a coach. In all his teams his main job has been keeping all the super stars he had on those teams and getting them to play nice together. He has had the project of keeping Kobe and Shaq, and Michael and Scotty each in line and their egos in check. He has done more than a great job at that, and putting the right pieces around his superstars, but he is much more a great team constructor than a coach. He has had all kinds of talent, it was his job to maximize the potential and talent of those guys, and he has done that. So congrats Phil, your number 1.
